What is Confirmation of Achieved Credit Points (ECTS) and how many points are needed?
European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a standard for comparing the study attainment and performance of students of higher education across the European Union and other collaborating European countries. For successfully completed studies, ECTS credits are awarded. One academic year corresponds to 60 ECTS-credits that are equivalent to 1500–1800 hours of study in all countries irrespective of standard or qualification type and is used to facilitate transfer and progression throughout Europe in order to determine whether you are eligible to do the Master program. In order to do so, we need to know your CPs you achieved during your first academic degree.
Under the credit transfer system, 75 credit points are awarded for completing the MBE Program. Together with an initial undergraduate degree worth at least 225 credits. This enables Fellows to meet the formal entrance requirements for a doctoral program.
Graduates with an undergraduate degree worth less than the 225 credit points have the chance to gain another 45 points through extra work. This means that an applicant has to have at least 180 credit points from the undergraduate degree in order to apply for this program.
In the MCC program 120 credit points are awarded over two years. Applicants only need to provide proof of 180 credits from the undergraduate degree and usually no extra work has to be conducted.
Confirmation of already achieved credit points can be found on your university transcript or in the study regulation for your degree, where it indicates the average time of study.

How is this course different from other programs from other universities?
Project Competence Concept: The combination of theory and practice which both education experts and companies call for, has been actual practice at Steinbeis University Berlin since it was founded in 1998. Today, versatile executives are particularly sought after – nevertheless, they should not only possess academic, theoretical knowledge but also bring along specific practical and professional skills and experience. This is why Steinbeis Center of Management and Technology offers on-the job training within dual study programs whose results are transferred and applied directly in the company. The Project Competence Concept is a unique study approach which turns out to be a real win-win situation for both the company and the participants. With this concept we are breaking new ground – in structure as well as in content.
Scholastics: During the classes, the specialized theoretical knowledge in conveyed to the students. With the support of the professors and lecturers from science, practice and consulting, they develop innovative approaches for the future of their company which are then »transferred« into their project work. The project being handled by the participants is documented in their Bachelor or Master Thesis.
