Master of Business Engineering (MBE)

Through its innovative design, the program for the Master of Business Engineering (MBE®) provides a future-oriented education and generates excellent new talent for companies. With an international, interdisciplinary approach, it optimally prepares natural scientists, engineers, and economists for the strategic and operational challenges where technology and business meet.

Our study program offers graduates of universities, colleges of applied science, and dual universities and candidates with little or no work experience the option to develop both personally and professionally in the MBE® program. The program is aimed at young professionals who have already completed a technical, economic, business-technical, or natural science degree (engineers, industrial engineers, business economists, information technology professionals, natural scientists, etc.) or are near completion of their degree.

The basic qualifications for the MBE® masterʼs degree are interdisciplinary. Natural scientists and engineers are taught economics from the beginning, while economists focus on topics of engineering, such as the basics of technology.

Students are assigned to the categories of engineer, natural scientist, or economist based on the content and focus of their first degree.

In the seminars that follow, the program deals with the creative, social, cultural, and psychological dimensions of management. In this way, the MBE program gives you insight into the business context of all areas of a company.

Program Structure and Duration

The program takes a total of 24 months. The required skills and competencies are taught in 17 seminar weeks. Of these, some seminar weeks are held abroad at our internationally renowned partner universities.

One seminar week usually lasts six days, from Monday through Saturday.

During all seminar modules, obligatory tests are taken. Tests take the form of written examinations, case studies, presentations, and transfer projects. The language of instruction and testing is primarily English, while individual modules for economists are held in German.

The MBE® program starts twice a year, in April and September. However, economists can only begin in September because the technology modules are offered only once a year. Regardless of when the seminars start, project work at the company can start anytime, so you can flexibly plan your studies.
